Affiliations
Athena currently has no external affiliations.
We are friendly towards other organizations such as The Federation,
IFT, IDIC Alliance, STARFLEET, UFP, Meetup, and independent groups.
Affiliations will be considered pending review and a majority
vote by the membership of Athena.
Why have international affiliations?
In the early years of Athena, being part of an international umbrella
organization provided visibility and networking that would have been
difficult to accomplish otherwise. Over the years, Athena has
attracted the type of members who create our own positive visibility
through the fun and creative things we do.
After twelve years of being affiliated with STARFLEET, in 2008, the USS Athena
decided that it was time for us to go our separate
ways.
